Knots & Steel products are handmade by designer and artist, Danny Price, in his woodwork and welding shop located in Rockwood, Ontario Canada. All items are one-of-a-kind, from wood with steel signs to natural slab wood board room tables.
Logs are sourced from trees in Ontario that have been blown down or need to be cut due to safety reasons.
Instead of the cut tree going into the landfill, we like to give it a new life by creating something very unique from the logs.
There are many live edge wood slabs and steel in our shop for you to look at and choose from. We are here to listen to your ideas and thoughts of what you would like your handcrafted wood and steel furniture to look like, keeping you posted and informed with your project each step of the way.

We have lots of live edge lumber in stock from small pieces for cutting boards to long and thick live edge slabs that are perfect for dining tables, benches, desks, bathroom vanity's, kitchen islands, entrance tables and bars.

This table is live natural edge with the bark attached
8 feet long x 2 inches thick and is designed so your knees don't hit the legs.
Bar top with several coats of natural tung oil. The wood slab is sanded with very fine sandpaper in between coats to give the shiny finish. We can also make a satin low sheen finish that allows you to feel the richness of the wood.
Taking Care Of Your New Dining Table
A new live edge table is made to last many years and could be passed on to other family members.
There are some common practices to keep it looking great.
Never put hot items directly on the table, use coasters or trivets.
Beverages in glasses, mugs or cans should be placed on coaster or place mats.
Flower vases should not be in direct contact with a wood surface, it can sweat and leave a mark.
Wood centre pieces are perfect for a flower vase.
Wipe up any spills right away.
Do not place the table close to a wood stove or radiator.
Avoid long exposures to direct sunlight.
Avoid sudden changes in temperature and humidity.
No furniture wax of polishes are recommended.
For a general clean, wipe the wood top with a cotton rag or towel dampened in warm water, then wipe off all moisture with paper towels. A drop or two of dish soap may be added to the warm water.
