Taking Care Of Your New Dining Table

A new live edge table is made to last many years and could be passed on to other family members. There are some common practices to keep it looking great.

  • Never put hot items directly  on the table, use coasters or trivets.
  • Beverages in glasses, mugs or cans should be placed on coaster or place mats.
  • Flower vases should not be in direct contact with a wood surface, it can sweat and leave a mark.
  • Wood centre pieces are perfect for a flower vase.
  • Wipe up any spills right away.
  • Do not place the table close to a wood stove or radiator.
  • Avoid long exposures to direct sunlight.
  • Avoid sudden changes in temperature and humidity.
  • Pledge furniture polish may be added for more shine.
  • For a general clean, wipe the wood top with a cotton rag or towel dampened in warm water, then wipe off all moisture with paper towels. A drop or two of dish soap may be added to the warm water.
